Are you aged 16 -25 years and curious about art? Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Arts Office and the Grainstore, dlr’s youth arts facility, are inviting young people to help us choose a new artwork for the County Arts Collection.

Together with other young people from the county, you will explore the work of an exciting range of professional artists based in Dublin, and from these works select a piece to add to the county collection. You will talk with curators and artists, visit different types of art exhibitions, go behind the scenes to visit professional artists’ studios and bring your ideas and thinking to the choice of a new work of art to be shared with the public.

This project will be taking place between October and December 2018. You will need to be available and commit to all of the sessions and tours. The first session takes place on Sunday 21 October. The project will then take place every Saturday between 3 November and 1 December. There will be walking involved on the days where exhibition, gallery and studio visits are taking place (4 days).

It is FREE to take part, and travel expenses from the meeting point to studios and galleries will be covered. Places are limited and there will be an application process to take part. You don’t need to have experience in art or history of art, just to be interested and curious!
