Inspired by Sound
This project culminated in a sold out performance at the Studio Theatre, dlr LexIcon on 12 May 2017. The artist, musician and award winning arts and music facilitator, Jonathan Reynolds , collaborated with 6 young people with intellectual disabilities from St John of Gods' service to create a cutting edge and innovative musical performance based on interesting sounds that inspire them from their daily lives. The group performed their original compositions live using a selection of electronic instruments under the supervision and guidance of Jonathan and guest musician Marc Aubele and members of the Oxytocin project.
Jonathan Reynolds is an artist, musician and an award winning arts and music facilitator specialising in collaborative work with people with and without disability. Jonathan graduated with a first class honours Masters Degree in Community Music from the Irish World Academy of Music & Dance, University of Limerick. In 2014, he was part of the core creative and performance team of the internationally acclaimed production Trickster with Jez Colborne and Mind The Gap Theatre, UK. Trickster was one of the largest arts and disability music and theatre productions in Ireland/UK and part of the prestigious Ignite funding from the Arts Council of Ireland.
