Take a look at what happens in the Grainstore
The Grainstore is a Grade 1 listed building situated beside Cabinteely House and Brambles Café. Thanks to the hard work of parents living in the area, it was developed into a local youth arts centre and as it grew in success Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council assumed responsibility for running the building, under their support it has continued to evolve and is now a vibrant, thriving hive of youth activities.
Throughout the week, a diverse range of classes are available for young people to sign up and take part in. Wednesdays are kept free for young people to take over the Grainstore and develop their own vision of what the space should best be used for. They are very welcoming and are always looking for new members, so f you are aged 13-25 feel free to drop in on a Wednesday to find out about Canvas our youth arts committee and all the different projects, workshops and gigs. You can also check out our What's On page !
The building itself includes a multipurpose hall with a sprung floor for dance, exhibitions, and performances etc, a large workshop space, a music rehearsal room, a media room, a recently refurbished state of the art recording studio, a reception area and an office.
Spaces are available for rent as long as they are used for youth arts purposes.
The Grainstore is run by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and is open Monday to Saturday.
